The current membership of the Association consists of all officers below the rank of Lieutenant who have completed a one year probationary period as a patrol officer. At the present time membership is at 100% of all eligible officers.

Some of the areas in which the ATPA is involved are the health and welfare of officers, providing legal aid, representation in disciplinary and grievance issues including contract interpretations.
